Why groove your shed
As concrete wears, the stone aggregate in the concrete becomes exposed because the cement around it wears faster under the conditions of your yard. Rough and sharp aggregate hurts your herd's hooves and can lead to lameness and decreased milk production.

When it's time
Most jobs come from one of three places: vet advice after slip injuries or lameness, slippery concrete where a lack of effective drainage is causing water or effluent pooling, or older floors where the surface has dissolved and started failing, exposing the sharp aggregate in the concrete and making it painful for cows to walk on.

Confident cows can produce up to 10–15% more milk compared to stressed or agitated cows.
